In a tiny theatre in the backstreets of Cheltenham, the gas lights are lit and the doors thrown open.
An excited mob piles in, people from all walks of life, who have come for a night of anarchic magic. They know that absolutely anything could happen onstage that night, from classical songs to grotesque clowning, from heartrending melodrama to physical feats both astounding and bizarre.
This is early variety theatre, at the start of the nineteenth century.

It Was A Glorious Night recreates this thrilling atmosphere and weaves a gripping offstage plot into the action, to produce a night to remember!
IT WAS A GLORIOUS NIGHT

Directed by Paul Milton
Music by Tom Johnson
